If you are a
person in full-time Christian ministry and sense that you or your spouse
could use two nights per year of complete rest and refreshment in the
Lord, the Lamb's Tale invites you to the Haven River Inn in Comfort,
Texas, where this is offered free to you on most any Sunday-Thursday.
This
ministry has been involved in the caring for and healing of the souls of
Christian leaders since 1998. We find that through surprisingly short
‘respites’ that ministers and their spouses can restore a certain margin
for ‘hearing’ from God and others that is very rejuvenating. Some come to
the Haven and sleep for 14 hours straight. Others come and plan their
next series of sermons. And others go play golf or go fishing, but the
first step in planning such a luxury is the hardest. And that is taking
the time away from the demands of ministry. But current statistics say
that over 1300 Christian leaders quit each month in America….so it is our
hope that ministers will take the time, before ‘running out of time’.
Dr.
Eugene Peterson says in Working the Angles, "There is a saying
among physicians that a doctor who is his own doctor has fool for a
doctor." If those entrusted with the care of the body cannot be trusted to
look after their own bodies, far less can those entrusted with the care of
souls look after their own souls which are even more complex than bodies
and have a correspondingly greater capacity for self-deceit."…and the
Lamb’s Tale agrees….So come, ‘Catch Your Breath’ |
