Do you

and have it abundantly” renew your passion and refine your calling with a
deeper, more practical love than you’ve ever imagined.
Join
us at the Haven River Inn. We will laugh and pray and weep and rest as we encounter the Lover of our
Soul.

Jane Rubietta: For more than a decade, Jane has taught others how to find God
in the midst of their busyness. Her vulnerability and humor create a lovely tone
for this retreat. As a woman, she understands the unique joys and
challenges of living in that place. Research for her book, How to Keep the
Pastor You Love, launched a ministry to and for pastoral families and
churches seeking to improve their pastoral relationships. Among Jane’s ten books
are critically acclaimed Come Closer: A Call to Life, Love, and Breakfast on
the Beach; Resting Place; Grace Point; and Quiet Places. (see
www.JaneRubietta.com for more information)
Beverly Counts: We
chose Beverly to co-lead this retreat because she’s been a pastor’s wife for
over 45 years and has led retreats, Bible studies, and mentored many younger
women … and has just about seen or heard it all. Serving in campus ministry she
met and married Bill Counts. Together they continued to minister to students in
California and Texas during the tumultuous late 60's and 70's. In 1980 they
moved to Dallas where Bill became the Senior Pastor of Fellowship Bible
Church. They retired and moved to Fredericksburg in 2007. Most lately she’s
spent seven years as a Community Bible Study teaching leader. They have 3 grown
daughters and 10 grandchildren who are the lights of her life. We hope you will
come and enjoy Beverly’s gentle wisdom and engaging warmth.
Suzanne Ramsay MD:
a family physician in the Texas Hill Country for 24 years, president of Lamb’s
Tale ministries, and a mother of five, Suzie has a heart for every aspect of a
person’s health, body and soul … especially that which springs from loving God
and loving others. She speaks on health related topics and discipleship. She
lives with husband John Ramsay, MD, in Fredericksburg.
Paula Dean, esthetician: Paula’s desire to support Christian leaders with her gifts will bless this retreat. She comes to us from her business, A Spa in the City, which was formerly located near an exclusive area of Dallas before relocating this spring to Fredericksburg. Her career spans 30 years in the beauty industry as an Esthetician, Massage Therapist, Beauty and Camouflage Make-Up Artist, and Massage Therapy Instructor. She’s taught in world class spas in the US and Canada, and co-authored textbooks for training Estheticians. Trade magazines have praised her as a “legend” and her facials as “fabulous” (Town & Country Nov 2006). People magazine featured her work with burned children at Camp Janus Burn Camp. This experienced and well-esteemed lady will give you professional and pleasant treatment that will leave you wanting more!
